MEET THE FOUNDER
Katie Moore, NCIDQ
Katie Moore, the founder and principal designer of The Builtmoore Co., is a Michigan based interior designer with a passion for curating spaces her Clients love to be in. A Michigan State University alum, Katie earned dual bachelor's degrees in Interior Design and Marketing. After graduating in 2010, Katie relocated to the Washington DC area (DMV) where she spent much of her career with a focus in corporate interiors, office design, multi-family, hospitality, and luxury residential interiors. Katie also successfully passed her professional interior design certification examination, NCIDQ, in 2012, which she continues to hold today.
In 2018, Katie moved back to her Michigan roots. At the same time she slowed down to raise her three boys. Her passion for design, however, didn’t slow down, as she founded Builtmoore Mercantile, a boutique home decor shop within an indoor marketplace in her home town, Port Huron. Over the next few years, as her boys grew older, Katie transitioned the home decor shop to the full service design studio, The Builtmoore Co., her ultimate passion and dream.
In 2024, Katie received her real estate license to better serve her Clients needs.
Today, Katie resides in Shelby Township, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit with her husband and three boys. When she’s not designing, you will find her homeschooling her boys, baking homemade sourdough bread, or at the hockey rink cheering on her crew.
Whether you are a local Client or designing from a distance, you’ll find that Katie’s attention to detail and simple Client-focused design process sets her apart. From initial consult to installation, your needs are her priority, creating a tailored, memorable experience.
